| Depending upon the amount of skin that needs to be removed, it takes somewhere between 2 to 3 hours for the entire procedure. Patients may require follow up procedures but after several months. |

| Side Effects |
| Side effects may include long scars underneath arms, across hips, across stomach, inside of legs. This can take up to several years to vanish. |

| Recovery Time |
Recovery period differs for different people. Usually, a person is back to work within 6 weeks after the surgery. Also, the persons resume normal exercise after 8 weeks.
Pain is there but it can be easily controlled by medication.

| Possible risks may include the possibility of revisional surgery pain, which may persist for long. Other risks include deep vein thrombosis, cardiac, and pulmonary complications. There can also be certain risks of anesthesia, some persistent swelling in the legs, excessive bleeding (hematoma), persistent looseness of skin, numbness or other changes in skin sensation, some major wound separation. Other risks include loss of skin loss, infection, blood clots, fluid accumulation, fatty tissue found deep in the skin might die (fat necrosis), along with poor wound healing. |
