| Jaw implant |
|
Jaw implant procedure is performed to add prominence and balance to a person’s face through enhancing an already-existent mandible structure. Jaw implants are made from either synthetic or biological substances. Augmentation in this area will complement other facial features as well as redefine a person’s jaw.
This implant is performed on a person having weak jaw structure which can tend to make a person's nose seem large or a prominent nose seem even larger. A person with a weak jaw structure may also appear to have a double chin. This surgery helps to augment the facial structure. |

| Technology |
| For jaw augmentation or implant, internal incisions are made directly inside the mouth on either side of the lower lip. Surgeon is then allowed to create a pocket that will hold the implant, which helps to avoid visible scarring. To get an improved contour and more defined jawline, the patient’s implant is placed directly on the jawbone. Once the implant is set in the desired place, dissolvable sutures are typically used to hold it in place and close the incisions. |
